Year 3 Link Reading

Link Reading are books we strongly recommend reading which are linked to our English curriculum and history curriculum. Reading one, some, or all of these titles will support your learning and give you some great ideas and vocabulary for your own writing. Some of the listed books will be trickier than others, so make a choice that is appropriate for your level of challenge.

All of these titles come recommended by our librarian, Mrs Benoist, but if you find any other great examples which could be added to this list do let us know!

While reading:

·        Collect vocabulary and phrases that you would like to transfer into your own writing;

·        Consider the ‘tricks of the trade’ for specific fiction genres;

·        Look at how writers structure their writing into paragraphs;

·        Identify different sentence structures (simple, compound and complex) and how these have been punctuated by the author;
