Trips

See the photo gallery page for photos of our school trips.

In year 3 we go on four school trips and a walk around the local area:

1) Stonehenge was a new trip in 2014. It was a huge success, so we now have this as a yearly trip. This year, 3P and 3DN will go on Tuesday 14th November 2017and 3O will go on Wednesday 15th November 2017

It is always MUCH colder at the stones than it is in Chandler's Ford, so wrap up in MANY layers, including a waterproof coat, hats and gloves. Wellies, trainers or walking boots are a must too.

2) We visit Paultons Park to support our science unit on forces. This was another new trip that we introduced only in 2015.
This year's trip will be on Monday 12th March 2018.

3) In the summer term we visit Hilliers. This year, we will be going in May 2018. Whilst at Hilliers, we will learn about plants to support our science topic.

We had an amazing thunder storm whilst we were visiting Hilliers the previous year!

4) In the spring term, we visit the Southampton Art Gallery, to support our art work in school.

5) Last year, we introduced a new, half day trip to Tescos in Eastleigh. The trip supports our 'Healthy Me' science unit. Each class will go on a different morning:

More information will follow, once these have been booked with Tescos.

As part of our geography topic on 'Our Place', our first trip of the year will be a walk around Hilitingbury on Wednesday 4th October 2017.
We will look at physical and natural geography, what is old and new and what is attractive and unattractive in our local area.

We also have some visitors in to school. This year we will welcome Aesops Fables drama group  in to teach us about fables - Thursday 14th September 2017.

A Roman theatre company will come in to school on in June (date to be confirmed once booked) to support our history work on the Romans.
